I created this piece last January, before Covid changed everything for us. It was meant to represent a personal situation that I felt hopeless about but was trying to shift my perspective in a positive way.
Worked on something very detailed with a very limited palette last week and needed to loosen up a bit so I used all the colors.😅 process in stories

*UPDATE: Original painting is sold, prints to come*
I had a tough time finding moments to create new work in 2020 and missed it terribly. Resolved to make up for it this year and have managed to create 4 failed pieces.. I think that’s a pretty successful month of painting! 😅 Without them, I wouldn’t have even been aware that I was in a growth + developing stage. I am so thankful for those who invested in my work this past holiday season and I’m looking forward to listing some originals in the shop real soon. (And planning to post a lot more process in my stories!)
The cereal box “hardwood” floors needed a few washes of color. Behind it, an emerald green beginnings of a kitchen.
Just started my next ECE class but am hoping I’ll still be able to tackle an interior for my next illustration. PS: the rest of the peony painting process is up and you may or may not hear my husband putting our little one to bed in the background audio. 🥰 #inthegoodolddays
